A MAN’S body was found with a stab wound to the neck at a house in Jalan Masjid Baung Bayam, Kota Bahru.
The 28-year-old victim was found by his family members in the bathroom at about 1 pm yesterday.
Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damiri, said a knife was also found in the victim's hand.
"The witness, who is also the victim's aunt, said she went to the bathroom and saw blood on the floor and the deceased bleeding with a knife in his hand and a wound to his neck.
"There were two stab wounds on the chin, one on the neck and a small stab wound on the deceased's stomach.
"Further investigations found that the deceased had no history of illness but had been involved in drug abuse since a year ago when he started working in Johor," he said in a statement today.
Mohd Azmir said the victim, who worked in Pasir Gudang, Johor, had just returned to his hometown on May 16.
He said there were no signs of a struggle or criminal elements at the scene, and the victim was confirmed dead at 1 pm yesterday by the medical officer on duty.
"The body was sent to the Forensic Unit of the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II), a post-mortem was conducted, and the case was classified as sudden death," he said. – May 21, 2026
