A FOUL smell led to the discovery of a badly decomposed body believed to be that of a man in a bushy area along Jalan Persiaran Balairong U8, Bukit Jelutong, in Shah Alam, yesterday afternoon.
Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah said police received information from members of the public about the discovery at about 2.45pm.
“Preliminary investigations found that the deceased was a man, but his ethnicity could not be ascertained. The deceased’s details could not be established as the body was already decomposed and no identification documents were found.
“Physical examination could not be carried out as the body was decomposed,” he said in a statement today.
Sarudin said the body would be sent to the Forensic Medicine Department at Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam, for a post-mortem examination at 2pm tomorrow.
