
Tuaran: A 35-year-old man was seriously injured after being trapped in a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Tamparuli - Ranau, Kg Kapa Tamparuli, Sunday.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:00am when the victim, traveling in a Toyota Avanza SUV, sustained severe injuries. Five other passengers in the vehicle, along with the driver of a Nissan Navara four-wheel drive, suffered only minor injuries.
According to Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Chief, Senior Fire Supt Mohammad Nor Amit, the fire department received an emergency call at 3:02am.
A team of 13 personnel, including one fire engine and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the rescue team found the victim trapped in the front section of the SUV.
Firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate the man, who was then handed over to Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) personnel and transported to Tuaran Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
