A Malaysian jogger has earned praises from social media users after stopping mid-run to rescue a puppy that was stuck inside a roadside drain.

Praised online
The touching moment was shared on Threads by user @albudhamil and quickly gained attention, collecting more than 46,000 likes and over 1,600 comments from Malaysians who applauded his kindness towards the animal.
In the video, the jogger could be seen crouching beside the drain while carefully trying to reach the frightened puppy and bring it to safety.
“My run got interrupted,” the user jokingly wrote in the caption accompanying the post.
Some social media users believed the puppy may have been blind after noticing its behaviour in the video. One user claimed the animal appeared disoriented and unable to escape on its own.

Calls for rescue and medical attention
Several users urged the public to seek proper medical attention and rescue assistance for the puppy, with some suggesting animal welfare groups should step in.
One user encouraged the original poster to contact MIAR, saying the puppy’s cloudy eyes suggested it may have vision problems and likely did not see the drain.

Another user suggested bringing the puppy to a veterinarian and even proposed crowdfunding to help cover any treatment costs.

Several users also thanked the jogger for taking the time to help instead of ignoring the situation.
Malaysian singer Mohammad Noh Salleh was among those who reacted to the post, leaving a simple message of appreciation: “Love u bro.” Others also shared supportive comments, with some praying for the jogger’s wellbeing and thanking him for showing compassion towards the helpless animal.
