Man survives crash in Keningau

KENINGAU: A 20-year-old man survived when the Toyota van he was driving skidded at the entrance road to Ipdas in Kampung Minawo, here, early Wednesday.

District Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 1.46am and 14 firemen led by Operation Commander Leong Hoi Min rushed to the location with machinery.

The Operations Commander reported that the drive got out of the vehicle safely.

He said, firemen carried out inspection to ensure that the situation was safe and operation ended at 2.18 am.

District Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 5.29 am and 15 members led by Operation Commander, Leong Hoi Min rushed to the location with machinery.

Firemen carried out extinguishing operations using a stream of two fountains using water source from the machinery tank to put down the fire.

No casualties were reported and the operation ended at 7.21am.

In another incident, a semi-permanent house at Mile 5 Kampung Suan Biah was destroyed in a fire that occurred on Tuesday morning.

The District Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 11.29 am and a total of six members led by Operations Commander Raizain Ag Damit rushed to the scene with machinery.

There were no casualties reported in the incident and the operation ended at 1pm.
