Man to stand trial for robbing woman

Kota Kinabalu: A 27-year-old man charged with robbing a woman and threatening to cause hurt to her, will go trial on Aug 25–27.

Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan set the trial date for Sadat Hamid who maintained his plea of not guilty during his case management on Tuesday.

AdvertisementDuring the proceedings, the prosecution had served all documents pertaining the case to Sadat. Sadat is accused of robbing the 29-year-old woman of RM300 and threatening to cause injury to her.

The incident allegedly took place at 12.05pm on Dec 1, 2024 at Kedai Runcit Ali Enterprise in Taman Telipok Ria in Telipok.

The court ordered the bail paid by Sadat to be extended pending the hearing.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani was jailed seven months for entering the State illegally and breaching the condition on his temporary work pass.

On the first count, he was jailed four months for entering the State without any document and was arrested at 10.05pm on Feb 2 this year at the Abdur Rahman Enterprise in Kg Bingkul, Beaufort.

On the second count, Saeed was sentenced to three months’ jail for violating the condition on his document which only allowed him to be in West Malaysia but he went to the State.

The court ordered Saeed to serve the jail sentence consecutively.
