- The mother of Manchester United legend Roy Keane has passed away at the age of 79.
- An rip.ie post confirmed Keane’s mother, Marie, died peacefully at Marymount University Hospital and Hospice on Friday while surrounded by her family.
- The post also stated that Marie’s funeral will take place in Ireland at the Church of the Resurrection, Farranree, on Tuesday 31 March.
- She will then be laid to rest at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Kilcully.
- Keane rarely speaks about his family, but became visibly emotional when shown a photo of his parents from the early stages of his career on the Stick to Football podcast last year.
