United have accepted a 9m offer from Bayer Leverkusen for goalkeeper Kovar.
The Czech Republic U21 keeper is now traveling to Germany for a medical.
Kovar spent last season on-loan with Sparta Prague, where he helped them win the Czech Republic championship.
The 23 year-old joined United in 2018 and never made a first team appearance.
