Manchester United agreed contract terms with PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo last summer, it has been revealed.
The Athletic says United had agreed a contract with PSV star Gakpo over a possible move in the summer window.
However, they opted against a deal given the rising price tag.
Eindhovens Dagblad suggest that PSV were asking for a fee of £52.3million.
Gakpo has since stated at his shock and frustration over missing a move to United last month.
