Manchester United cancelled all post-match media interviews after their Europa League defeat to Real Sociedad last night.

United management made the call after Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died in Balmoral aged 96 on Thursday.

The Red Devils' Europa League campaign started with defeat, as Brais Mendez' 59th minute penalty helped the visitors edge out the closely-fought contest.

Following Buckingham Palace's announcement at 6:30pm, Old Trafford fell silent in remembrance of the Queen ahead of kick-off.

United opted for a media blackout after the match, and manager Erik ten Hag did not attend any post-match press conference, speak to UEFA's rights holders or converse with MUTV.

In much the same vein, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta did not speak to the press following his side's 2-1 Europa League triumph in Zurich.
