Manchester United's board carries three independent directors, it has been revealed.
The Athletic reports the three board members act in the best interests of shareholders and are there to push back on the Glazer family, the majority shareholders.
Robert Leitao, Manu Sawhney and John Hooks are all employed by United
Leitao is a Rothschild banker, while Sawhney was previously with the International Cricket Council.
Hooks is described as a 'fashion industry veteran', he's also somebody whose knowledge is valued by the club.
All three do not have a connection with the Glazers.
