Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag admits Anthony Martial could miss the start of preseason.
Martial has suffered a new leg injury, which Ten Hag concedes is serious.
The France attacker broke down in victory over Fulham last week.
Ten Hag said: "Yeah, going to be a long one but how long we don't know. We have to do more assessment."
The 27-year-old has endured an injury-hit season for the Red Devils, suffering six separate injuries over the campaign restricting him to just 29 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals.
