Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed Luke Shaw faces a long spell on the sidelines.
The left-back, who looked unfit from the start of preseason, has gone down with a muscular injury that could keep him out for months.
Ten Hag also stated that fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia is still not fit, but did offer more optimism on new singing Rasmus Hojlund.
"Not for tomorrow. (He's) near," Ten Hag said of his big money striker signing to reporters.
"Today, for the first time, he came into team training so next week we expect him to do a full week of team trainings so he is near to the squad.
"We can't [disclose their injuries], it's personal these days, they will be for some period absent. Luke will be longer than Mason [Mount - injured for three to six weeks]. Malacia will also take a few weeks before he will be back."
