Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was delighted with victory over Crystal Palace.

Ten Hag enjoyed the spirit shown by his players.

He said, "I love many things. First of all, the quality of the game. In the first 70 minutes, we played a really good game on the pitch, in the possession, the formations and the passing security. The defensive transitions and the counter press were also brilliant and I think we dominated the game. I think we deserved the lead and especially the second goal was a great goal to see."

On Casemiro's red card, he continued: "I've seen the incident, where the Crystal Palace player takes a big risk to bring an injury to Antony and then the emotions got really high, for several players. And then they pick one player out, so I think they could have picked more players in such an incident and then the VAR is interfering. This is what I don't understand because then you have to be consistent.

"I have so many occasions this season where they didn't interfere so I was disappointed but we have to take it. Our players have to behave, they have to control their emotions, but I'm happy that we have the spirit and we stand for each other."

On Marcus Rashford's goal, Ten Hag sated: "It was a brilliant goal and finally he [Rashford] was on the end. But it was a great team goal, by switching play, playing between the lines, great combinations and then finally he finished off a brilliant pass by Luke Shaw as well, the cross. And then of course the finish was very good. I think it was difficult for the opponent when we bring in that sub [Garnacho on for Wout Weghorst] because it was a different dynamic all of a sudden. They are focusing on a player who is playing all of the time on the ball and then they have a player who is going round the back of them. It was great to see that the team picked up a good dynamic and the change, and took the benefit of it."
