Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has played down speculation about Raphael Varane's future.
The French centre half is currently not in the United starting line-up, as he is not preferred at right-sided centre back.
With manager Ten Hag preferring Harry Maguire in that positon, he swatted away questions about Varane being unhappy.
"Rapha Varane: I don't know what you're talking about," Ten Hag told reporters during a news conference.
"It's rumors. Very important player, but there's internal competition and there should be at a top club, as we are.
"And when you decide on two players who do brilliant - Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire - you also have to make a choice for that position."
