Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has set out the club's stall with respect to the Carabao Cup.
United, who did go on to win the competition last season, will take on Crystal Palace at home on Tuesday night.
As they prepare for a busy period of games in all competitions, Ten Hag admits another trophy would be welcome this term.
It is only a few months since we lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium and we all remember what a great feeling that was," Ten Hag stated in his matchday program.
It was an important competition for us last season and that has not changed this year.
We want to defend the trophy, so as we welcome Roy Hodgson and Crystal Palace tonight, this is an opportunity for us to keep moving in the right direction."
