Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag wants to keep Jonny Evans at the club.
The former Leicester City center half, who played for United earlier in his career, signed a short term deal for the summer.
Evans, who is 35, was on United's preseason tour and played a few games as well.
Asked about whether he wants to hold onto Evans for the season, Ten Hag told reporters: "Of course, otherwise we would not be talking.
"No it does it affect it, we will see, we are in talks and when we have news we will bring it as always," Ten Hag added.
"For this month he is under contract but we are talking."
