Manchester United chiefs won't seek to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in January.
The Athletic says United 'will not sign' a replacement for Ronaldo in January, should he leave the club.
The Portuguese star's future at Old Trafford has been plunged into further doubt after he was left out of the squad for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea for disciplinary reasons. He refused to step off the bench against Tottenham Hotspur last Wednesday evening and headed back to the dressing room before the match had even finished.
However, although United are in desperate need of a new striker, it is claimed that they will not automatically go in search of a replacement if Ronaldo leaves in the January transfer window.
