Varane was not risked again by United after he sustained a knock in training.
Varane is training but was not listed in the squad for their penultimate friendly in Australia against Crystal Palace.
The 29-year-old started in the 4-0 victory over Liverpool in Bangkok last week but did not figure in the 4-1 win against Melbourne Victory on Friday.
