Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will be sidelined for several weeks due to injury.
The Brazilian had only recently returned to full fitness after a problem he sustained on international duty.
However, Casemiro now appears to have suffered a hamstring injury against Newcastle United in a 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat.
United released a statement which said: Casemiro will be out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered during our Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday.
The Brazilian midfielder was withdrawn at half-time due to the issue, and subsequent assessment has revealed a strain that will keep him out for a number of weeks."
United are already without Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez, but a number of other injured players are returning.
