Manchester United youngster Maxi Oyedele made a return to Carrington this week.
The 19-year-old had been with League Two side Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season, moving in January.
However, The Mail states that he was not getting the minutes he had been expecting.
As a result, the club have brought him back unofficially to play for the Under-21s.
His loan is not necessarily canceled, but only an injury crisis at Forest Green would see him go back.
United are assessing whether they will be moving Oyedele on in the summer, given his lack of progression.
