Manchester United defender Harry Maguire admits he came close to joining West Ham United over the summer.
United accepted an offer from West Ham for Maguire, but a contract payoff couldn't be agreed and saw the move fall through.
Maguire confirmed on Sky Sports: "We couldn't agree.
"My England career is a big priority for me, but so is my club career. I considered everything, and when I haven't started in the first four games, it's something you think about.
"I finished last season with two really good performances for England and I have to keep performing to be selected.
"Listen, I want to play matches, I want to play football. The first four weeks have been tough, because the coach hasn't chosen me."
