Manchester United goalkeeper Matej Kovar is set for a promotion this season.
United are in the market for a senior back-up goalkeeper this summer, with Dean Henderson to join Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan. Lee Grant retired from professional football at the end of the season before taking up a coaching role with Ipswich.
The Manchester Evening News says United are open to installing Tom Heaton as their second-choice goalkeeper this summer, which means youngster Kovar could well start the summer as third-choice.
Fellow youngster Dermot Mee is also expected back at Carrington next week following international commitments with Northern Ireland U19s and is set to go into the first-team player pool for the first weeks of summer.
