Manchester United shot stopper Andre Onana may be in for even more misery this season.

The Cameroonian is not enjoying a positive spell so far with the Red Devils after arriving from Inter Milan in the summer.

While Onana has been decent in the Premier League, his Champions League howlers have United bottom of their group with one game to go.

Per The Sun, even if Onana chooses to stay at United this winter instead of going to the African Cup of Nations, he may not be able to play.

There is a FIFA rule that stipulates that if Onana refuses a call-up, he cannot play for United during the period Cameroon are still involved in the AFCON.

The official FIFA line reads: "A player who has been called up by his association for one of its representative teams is, unless otherwise agreed by the relevant association, not entitled to play for the club with which he is registered during the period for which he has been released or should have been released pursuant to the provisions of this annex, plus an additional period of five days."
