Manchester United are said to be working with first team star Bruno Fernandes' agent lately.
The Red Devils are looking to find a replacement for defender Harry Maguire in the summer.
Maguire is respected by coach Erik ten Hag, but he may want regular football and could leave United when the season concludes.
Per O Jogo in Portugal, United are looking for a new centre back, which has led them to Goncalo Inacio.
The latter has the same agent as Fernandes, Miguel Pinho, which may give United an edge in negotiations.
The 21-year-old Inacio has played 29 times this term for Sporting.
