Manchester United midfielder Charlie Wellens struck the winner as loan club Oldham Athletic defeated Eastleigh 3-2 in the National League this week.
Wellens' goal ensured John Sheridan left as a winner, with the Latics manager to be replaced by David Unsworth.
Sheridan said: "I don't cry much but I nearly came to tears.
"The fans are unbelievable."
Wellens can play at full-back or in midfield and scored in United's Premier League 2 opener against Arsenal this season before heading out for his first loan move.
