Manchester United have opened talks with Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo.
The France defender has been on United's shopping list this summer in the event Harry Maguire was to depart.
L'Equipe says Todibo is now close to joining United, even though Maguire remains in the squad.
United had also shown interest in Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard. But the 27-year-old is now close to joining Inter Milan.
Todibo, who has a contract until 2027, can leave OGCN for 40m in the coming week.
