Manchester United will open compensation talks with Newcastle for Dan Ashworth this week.
Newcastle have placed Ashworth on gardening leave after he informed them of his wish to leave for Manchester United.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting United will now open talks this week with Newcastle to settle on a fee for Ashworth.
Newcastle are initially demanding over 10m to release Ashworth from his contract.
However, United will push to drop Newcastle's price.
