Manchester United are pushing Bayern Munich to drop their price for Marcel Sabitzer.
Sabitzer is on-loan at United from Bayern and can sign permanently for 25m.
The Sun says it is a fee that United are currently unwilling to pay.
United manager Erik ten Hag wants to continue his overhaul of his Red Devils squad and is keen to keep hold of the loanee long-term.
For his part, Sabitzer is eager to stay.
He has made 13 appearances in all competitions for United and has started the last three Premier League fixtures.
