The Red Devils are plotting a raid on Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon for central defender Goncalo Inacio.
Per The Sun, United have already been sending scouts to Lisbon to watch the player.
They will run a final check on him over the coming months before deciding whether to bid in January.
The 22-year-old has a 60 million (52 million) release clause that any club can match to secure his signature.
