The Sun says United are reviving their interest knowing Veron could be available for a knockdown £10m.
The midfielder, now 19, has been tracked by United for almost two years.
He has been likened to Gabriel Jesus, who left Palmeiras to join Manchester City as a teenager and went on to win four Premier League titles with the club.
