Manchester United are hoping to sell Andreas Pereira this summer.
The Brazilian playmaker is returning to the club, as his loan deal with Flamengo expires.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Flamengo have decided against taking up the buy option of €10.5 million to sign Pereira permanently.
Now United will have to find another buyer for the midfielder, who has struggled to impress in his senior career.
Pereira was a highly rated youth prospect at United, but failed to make the grade at the club at first team level.
However, he may get a last chance to impress new coach Erik ten Hag in preseason, if a sale is not concluded in the coming weeks.
