Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is relishing the prospect of playing for his country this summer.

The 21-year-old hopes that he will make the final Denmark squad for Euro 2024 in Germany.

Hojlund, who has never played at a major tournament, did not go to the 2022 World Cup.

The United ace told Tipsbladet: "It's going to be insanely cool. I was close to making it last time (to the World Cup in Qatar), but stumbled right at the finish line. I'm really looking forward to it now we'll first have to see if I get selected. It means a lot to me to play on the national team, and it always has.

I have always followed the national team and been a big supporter even when things didn't go so well. I am very patriotic, and it's something very special to take the field with other Danes and play against other nations. It will always be special to me.

I have never been the type to set a goal for myself, but of course, I will be happy if we advance from the group stage, and I can help the team along the way by scoring some goals."
