Manchester United forward Wout Weghorst has explained his shirt number choice at the club.
The Dutch striker has signed on a loan deal from Burnley until the end of the season.
Weghorst is likely to feature extensively for United, as Antony Martial is the only other recognized no.9 in the squad.
The 30-year-old chose the no.27 shirt previously worn by Marouane Fellaini as his number.
“Of course, I looked into the ones that are free or available. Two and seven will make nine, of course – a striker's number," Weghorst told club media after signing.
“I had a feeling with it."
