Salford City defender Jacob Lara was on trial with Manchester United's Under-18s against Everton yesterday.
The 18-year-old started for the young Red Devils at Carrington in a 1-1 draw.
Sam Mather scored the only goal for the club in that game, while Lara played the full match.
Per the Manchester Evening News, United will take their time before deciding whether to retain Lara permanently.
Lara temporarily signed for Stalybridge Celtic on work experience from Salford earlier in the year.
Having spent time in EFL Youth Alliance NW, Stalybridge was his first chance at getting to experience first team football.
