Foot Mercato says Manchester United are interested in the Holland international.
After failing with an €80m offer for Ajax attacker Antony, United are now focusing on Gakpo.
PSV rate Gakpo at €30-40m and any move will be dependent on their Champions League qualifying campaign.
The player said last week: "We have to focus on the Champions League and try to get there. Then it's more likely that I'll stay. I don't think I said anywhere that I was leaving, so there's definitely a chance I'll stay."
