Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga says his fellow young players are pushing their senior teammates in preseason.
For the win at Melbourne Victory, United's second-half line-up, although it featured the likes of Eric Bailly, Donny van de Beek and Rashford, had a much more youthful look to it, with Ethan Laird, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal and Tahith Chong all getting minutes under their belts.
Manager Erik Ten Hag is keen to see what his younger players have got to offer and Elanga, who started in Melbourne, is pleased with the competition for places that is unfolding.
"It is healthy competition. It is important to have competition like that in training, because if someone starts ahead of you in games it will motivate you to work even harder in training and try take their position," Elanga told MUTV.
"It is really important to have competition like that in the team."
