SANDAKAN: A man and a woman cheated death after their Toyota Land Cruiser plunged 300 metres down a ravine near Puu Jih Shih Temple along Jalan Cecily on Saturday.

Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief PKPgB Jimmy Lagung said the vehicle veered off while the driver was attempting to park, causing it to plunge down a 300-foot hillside.

“The man sustained injuries to his lower back, while the woman suffered a hand injury.
