RANAU: A man and woman were injured when their car skidded and fell into a 15-meter deep ravine, near here, on Friday.
Ranau Fire Station Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said a six-member team led by Becket Gumat rushed to the scene after receiving a call through MERS999 about the 6.54pm incident at Jalan Nalapak Ranau.
He said the firemen managed to extricate the victims who were pinned in the vehicle.
“The Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) team gave initial treatment to the victims before sending them to the hospital,” he said.
He added that no information on the victims was obtained and after making sure there was no more danger, the operation ended at 8.20pm.
He reminded all motorists to be extra careful when driving, especially on narrow and bending village roads, to avoid any untoward incidents.
