Manchester school attack: Teenage girl in court on attempted murder charges

  • A 14-year-old girl has appeared in court, charged with the attempted murder of two students and a teacher following a knife attack at a school in Manchester.
  • The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced three counts of attempted murder and two counts of possessing a bladed article on school premises during her appearance via videolink at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
  • The alleged incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning at a school in north Manchester, is currently under investigation by Counter Terrorism Police, though it has not yet been formally declared a terrorist incident.
