Sadio Mane's adviser Bacary Cisse has revealed he came close to joining Barcelona in the past.
Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich last week.
Cisse told RMC: "Last year, Mané could have signed for Barcelona.
"It was Leo Messi who demanded the signing of Mané from Barcelona in the negotiations.
"He gave two names: Sadio Mané and an Argentine central defender."
Cisse also confirmed during the interview that Messi's current club PSG made an attempt this summer before he joined Bayern.
