Choosing the right lawyer is crucial for your case to succeed. However, picking the wrong one can be just as bad as not hiring a lawyer at all.
In a recent tweet that went viral by user @MALAYSIAVIRALLL, a guy shared how a law firm used up all the money that was intended for him and his family.

The post mentioned that he and his family decided to sell their house for RM500,000. At first, everything went smoothly, and the buyer even made the payment through a cheque sent to the mentioned firm.

The firm informed him that he wouldn’t receive the money until the name-changing process was complete. However, they keep telling him the process is unsuccessful due to misspellings without providing any proof.
“They informed us about some hiccups in the name-changing process due to incorrect spellings. This has been happening for a month or two.”
The man also shared that they took out a loan of over RM300,000 from the bank to handle some initial payments. Once the loan got approved, he had to cough up RM1,500 every month to clear a debt that wasn’t even his fault.

“We’re trying our best to raise awareness about this so that everyone understands what the firm has taken from us and how they’re affecting others. If you search for them on Google, you’ll come across numerous negative reviews claiming that they’re manipulative and dishonest.”
However, it wasn’t just the houseowner who found this situation sketchy. Netizens swiftly shared their thoughts on this situation.

“I’ve been through something similar before. However, once the lawyer was reprimanded, and I mentioned making a report, they promptly prepared my cheque. It’s surprising that lawyers aren’t afraid of the law.”

“It’s surprising that you’ve studied law, yet as a lawyer, you aren’t even adhering to the law yourself.”

“In situations like this, it’s advisable to file a police report for criminal breach of trust (CBT) instead of just a civil case. When you report CBT, you won’t necessarily need to hire a lawyer to handle the case, the police will conduct an investigation to determine if there’s a valid case.”
