MARA provides long-term educational support for two young boys who lost their father in a road accident, offering monthly allowances and foster care.
IPOH: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) has adopted the two young sons of a man killed in a recent road accident in Klang, Selangor.
The boys, nine-year-old Muhammad Aqif Amsyar and seven-year-old Muhammad Afif Izz Rayqal, are now foster children under Yayasan Pelajaran MARA (YPM).
MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the move reflects a long-term commitment to safeguard the children’s education, not just temporary aid.
He announced a monthly allowance of RM120 each will be provided while they are in primary school, increasing to RM150 at secondary level.
Asyraf Wajdi expressed gratitude to officials who visited the family, conveying encouragement to the boys to remain strong and study diligently.
He also noted the tragedy left deep emotional scars, having claimed a father who was a pillar of support.
In a Facebook post, Asyraf Wajdi shared he had an emotional video call with the boys’ grandmother, Faridah Ahmad, 56.
“She shared that the deceased was a good son who always strived to make his family happy,” he said.
The victim’s widow, Nor Nadia Abdul Majid, 32, was handling matters related to her late husband, Amirul Hafiz Omar, 33.
Asyraf Wajdi concluded by stating MARA would support the children in building a better future.
