Kota Kinabalu: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), an agency under the federal Rural Development Ministry, is watching closely the reported attempt by the heirs of the Sulu sultanate to seize two Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) subsidiaries with more than US$2 billion assets in Azerbaijan.
Mara Chairwoman Datuk Seri Azizah Mohd Dun said Mara would refer to its lawyers to monitor the development, apart from ensuring all its officers and representatives watch its assets in foreign countries.
