Spice it up, C-suite sweethearts.

Who would have known that the office siren is going to be back this New York Fashion Week (NYFW) – bolder but wiser, as a nonchalant cyborg donning sharp blazers and tailored trousers without having to strut about in stilettos. Yes ladies, time to bid farewell to your well-mannered cubicle mayhem and turn to suave avant-garde. As the season arrives, the runways touched down with a long awaited maximalist style, fashion lovers all over been waiting for.

Paint the town red

The vibrant cherry hue of earthy reds saw a refreshing start to fall. Christian Siriano's collection was particularly notable and he had in fact, described his show as a world of red — Siriano brought forward bold silhouttes in his usual prowress, creating the dream look for Goddesshood denoting, “Red came from the idea of power” and “I was like, who doesn’t love that iconic, sexy red car? But who doesn’t love that iconic, sexy red dress? And how do they kind of go together?” he says.

Recent pinks and pastel palette tappered classic colours, red being one of them and it was a delight to see Siriano bringing the deal breakers back to the forefront while still gracing her with the enduring, subtle mystery.

Sinking into the Big Apple

Brandon Maxwell brought us the city solace, screaming a silence on what defines crème de la crème – quite possibly a combination of slouchy femininity with a machismo twist of sorts for the everyday ‘fundamentally business, nothing personal’ kind of women. The show in its overall demeanour is a classic return of New York for the free-spirited, the dreamers who find beauty in the forlorn and robust world of sobriety . According to Maxwell, “It was very important to me to style the collection together in a way that felt very expressive, and expressive on the characters we cast. I wanted everyone to have their own personality, that's what America is to me.”
