Marcos back from Singapore working visit

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday returned from his two-day working visit to Singapore, bringing home with him deeper bilateral cooperation and reinforce investor confidence in the Philippines.

In his post-visit video statement, Marcos highlighted planned investments in digital technology, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and healthcare.

“During the high-level business meetings with leading Singaporean companies and investors, I underscored the Philippines’ commitment to accelerating digital transformation, strengthening critical infrastructure, and expanding access to quality healthcare,” he said.

“The discussions focused on deepening cooperation in digital technology, telecommunications, data centers, AI, and healthcare—key sectors that will enhance the country’s innovation ecosystem, improve essential services, and support long-term, inclusive economic growth,” he added.

The chief executive further noted that his engagements with Singaporean investors reflect their continued confidence in the Philippine economy, citing the country’s growing digital economy, skilled workforce and reform agenda as key factors attracting high-value, technology-driven investments.

At the Milken Institute Roundtable, Marcos presented investment opportunities in the Philippines, highlighting the Luzon Economic Corridor, the Public-Private Partnership Code and the Green Lanes for Strategic Investments.

He said these reforms are intended to accelerate project approvals, remove regulatory bottlenecks and provide a secure, transparent and stable environment for investors, following the country’s attainment of upper-middle-income status.

Meanwhile, in his face-to-face with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Marcos shared their commitment to further strengthening relations “amidst global shocks and conflicts.”

With the Philippines and Singapore holding successive Association of Southeast Asian (Asean) Chairships, Marcod reiterated both countries’ resolve to push Asean Centrality, and the Philippines’ readiness to serve as a reliable partner in driving growth and innovation across the region.
