Marcos back in Manila after productive Canada visit

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is back in Manila following a productive four-day official visit to Canada.

The chartered flight carrying the chief executive, first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and the rest of the delegation landed at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City at 3:56 p.m. on Sunday.

Among the highlights of Marcos’ four-day trip include the sealing of key cooperation agreements in trade, defense, and energy as well as $2.5 billion in investment commitments.

The president likewise met with Prime Minister Mark Carney where he emphasized Canada’s role as a key partner of the Philippines in promoting regional security and economic resilience.

Carney reaffirmed his government’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the Philippines amid growing engagement in the Indo-Pacific.
