MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said music plays a crucial role in his life, noting that if it were removed, saying it served as the most enduing parts of his life.
Speaking on the podcast of musician Gary Valenciano called “Unshaken with Gary V," released on Monday, Marcos recalled his childhood, saying he always dreamed of becoming either an astronaut or a musician, and never wanted to be a politician.
“I would have done anything to fly in space. And I would have done anything to have a life in music,” said Marcos.
He explained that despite his deep interest in math and science, music became a major focus during his school years in the United Kingdom in the 1970s.
“It is one of the most enduring parts of my life. If you took music away from me, I don't know how I would manage. I just don't know how I would get through the day."
