Marcos declares six local holidays

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared special non-working days in six areas to allow residents to fully participate in their respective local celebrations.

Proclamation 1180, signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on March 4, 2026 declared March 6 a special non-working day in Buguias as the town celebrates its annual Carrot Festival, one of the municipality’s most anticipated events honoring its thriving vegetable industry.

March 7 was declared a special non-working day in Tagum City, Davao del Norte in celebration of its 28th Araw ng Tagum, under Proclamation 1184.

Under Proclamation 1182, the municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro will observe a special non-working day on March 19 to celebrate the Sulyog Festival.

The same day was also declared a special non-working day in Baco, Oriental Mindoro in celebration of the Banana Festival, under Proclamation 1183.

March 21 was declared a special non-working day in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro in celebration of its founding anniversary, under Proclamation 1185.

Meanwhile, Proclamation 1181 declared March 26, Thursday, a special non-working day in Mambusao in observance of its founding anniversary.
