
MANILA, Philippines -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the distribution of educational materials to students from 13 public schools in San Juan City, signaling the government’s commitment to foundational literacy and digital learning.
Marcos, together with Education Secretary Sonny Angara, oversaw the distribution of school bags and learning supplies in a ceremony at Pinaglabanan Elmentary School.
"Through the support of President Bongbong Marcos and our partners, we are making sure
that every child has a better chance to learn," Angara said in a statement.
The local government of San Juan City, led by Mayor Francis Zamora, is distributing 13,000
tablets to learners from Kindergarten to Grade 12 across its 13 public schools, expanding
access to technology-enabled learning.
At the same time, the Office of the President - Office of the Executive Secretary through the
Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) is providing 1,000 school bags filled with essential
learning materials for Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners.
During the event, Marcos also met with 105 beneficiaries of the Bagong Pilipinas Presidential Merit Scholarship Program from San Juan City.
The program is a national initiative that expands access to quality higher education for deserving Filipino learners, funded through the SCPF.
